Switching to Stoatify doesn't mean starting from scratch. There are a few ways to bring in the documents you already have, pick whichever matches where they live today.

Upload what's on your computer

The simplest start: drag a folder's worth of PDFs and images onto the vault. They upload in parallel and land in categories, ready to tag. See Upload your first document.

Pull from email and folders

Import and ingestion settings in Stoatify: a private email intake address, IMAP, and watched folders
Import & ingestion: let documents arrive and file themselves.
  • Email intake. Forward attachments to your private per-vault address and they're filed automatically.
  • IMAP inbox. Connect an inbox and Stoatify pulls attachments from it on an ongoing basis.
  • Watched folder. Point a directory at Stoatify and drop files in to import them.
  • URL import. Paste a link to a document and Stoatify fetches it.

Tip

Doing a big one-time import from another app? Download your files from it, then drag them in as a batch. For ongoing intake, set up automated intake once and forget it.
