What is Stoatify?

A private home for the paperwork of adult life, and how the vault works.

3 min read · Updated June 28, 2026

Stoatify is a private document vault. You upload the paperwork of adult life, tax forms, IDs, insurance, medical records, receipts, warranties, and Stoatify stores it securely, sorts it into clear categories, tags it, reads the text inside it, and makes it findable again in seconds.

Everything lives behind your account. Files never go straight to storage from your browser: every byte flows through the Stoatify API behind your login, so there are no public storage buckets and nothing is exposed by default.

The Stoatify vault, documents grouped into categories with tags and a search bar
Your vault: everything in one private, organized place.

The core ideas

  • Categories are real-life buckets (Taxes, Identity, Insurance, Medical, and so on), seeded for you at setup and yours to adjust. Every document lands in one.
  • Tags are free-form labels you add for the way you think.
  • Search looks inside your documents, not just at their filenames, thanks to on-device OCR.
  • Sharing lets you send a single document, or a whole saved search, as a link with an optional password and expiry.

You can use Stoatify on the web, on native iOS and Android apps, or from the command line and API. It is the same vault everywhere.
