Change roles, remove members, and ownership
Adjust who can do what, hand over ownership, and the last-owner safeguard.

As a team changes, you'll adjust who's in it and what they can do. Here's how membership is managed, and the guardrails that stop you locking yourself out.
Change a role
From the members list, change anyone's role with the dropdown next to their name. Owners and Admins can move people between roles.
Remove someone
- An Owner removes a member from the members list.
- You can't remove yourself, ask another Owner to do it.
Ownership
- There can be more than one Owner. To hand over ownership, give another member the Owner role.
- Stoatify won't let you remove or demote the last remaining Owner, so an org always has someone in charge.
Good to know
Removing members and creating roles are Owner actions. Admins manage content, invites, and groups, but not these.
Tip
Before someone leaves, reassign anything only they could see (their restricted documents) so the team keeps access.
