Capturing & uploading

Import a document from a link

Paste a URL and Stoatify fetches the file and files it for you.

Sometimes the document you want lives at a web address: a receipt, a statement, a PDF someone linked you. Instead of downloading it and uploading it again, paste the link and Stoatify fetches it straight into your vault.

  1. 1Open Settings → Intake → Import & CLI in the web app.
  2. 2Paste a direct or shareable link to a file into Import from a URL.
  3. 3Choose Import, Stoatify downloads the file and files it like any upload.

Good to know

The link needs to point at the file itself (or a shareable link Stoatify can follow), not a login-walled page. Once imported, the document behaves exactly like one you uploaded: categorized, tagged, read by OCR, and searchable.

Tip

For paperwork that arrives regularly, set up automatic intake so you don't paste links one by one.
