Beyond categories and tags, a document can be linked to contacts: the people, organizations, or even equipment it involves. Stoatify tracks two roles, who a document is from or to (the correspondent) and what it's about (concerning), so you can pull up everything tied to one company, person, or asset.
Kinds of contact
- Organizations, a bank, an insurer, a landlord.
- People, a doctor, an accountant, a family member.
- Equipment, an appliance, a vehicle, anything with its own paper trail.
Use them
- 1Open a document and set its Correspondent (who it's from or to) and Concerning (what it's about).
- 2Manage the full list in Settings → Library → Contacts.
- 3Filter the vault by Contact to see everything tied to one of them.
Good to know
You can also record a document's direction, incoming or outgoing, alongside its contact, handy for separating bills you receive from letters you send.
Tip
Contacts pair with storage paths: a template like {created_year}/{correspondent}/{title} files everything by who it's from.
